ABOUT OUR DOGS AND PUPPIES
OUR PARENT DOGS have been carefully evaluated and are chosen for breeding based on their sound structure, over all health qualities and even temperament. This is a necessary step in order to insure they are passing on the very best qualities possible to their puppies. They are cleared healthy by regular vet examinations as well as genetically cleared via DNA TESTING.
OUR PUPPIES are bred with Family in mind. We strive to produce puppies that fit in easily with any family situation or lifestyle. Aside from their beauty, they inherit the very best health qualities and temperament from their parents.
We take every step possible to make sure every puppy's transition to their new home goes as smoothly as possible. Each puppy is given daily stimulation, interaction and socialization from birth. You can rest assured your puppy will have the best start to life while under our care!
PUPPY HEALTH AND WELLNESS
YOUR PUPPY will come with a complete head to toe health exam from our certified veterinarian. The exam will include; weighing your puppy, checking for normal temperature, listening for an irregular heartbeat, checking for ear infections, checking genitals for any abnormalities, examining the eyes for clarity, checking the coat and skin for any sign of allergies, examining the teeth and inside the mouth for any abnormalities and for signs of luxating hip sockets or knee joints.
Your puppy's fecal will be checked and cleared for parasites such as; Round, Hook and Whip Worms as well as Coccidia and Giardia. (Please Note) Although we administer pretreaments for the Coccidia and Giarda parasites as a preventative measure, we do not guarantee your puppy will not show signs of the parasite after you get your puppy home. These intestinal parasites are quite common when puppies are stressed during transition to new homes. Please follow up with your vet asap if your puppy ever develops loose stools that won't go away or contains blood or mucus.
Your puppy will receive the first puppy vaccination which prevents Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, (CAV-2 cross protection CAV-1), Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (MLV). Your puppy will need additional vaccinations plus rabies to complete series for the first year of your puppy's life. Please make sure you have an appointment scheduled for your puppy prior to your puppy's arrival. PLEASE DO NOT....Take your puppy to pet stores, parks or any other public areas until all puppy vaccinations have been completed. DO NOT....put your puppy down on the floor at a vets office or walk your puppy on a leash through your neighborhood until vaccinations are completed. The most serious life threatening viruses such as Parvo and Distemper, can live in an environment for many months and can still be highly contagious. Many puppy viruses can simply be contracted by walking on the ground where an infected pet has been.
It will be your responsibility to continue to keep up the health care of your puppy as required on our HEALTH CONTRACT. This includes regular health exams, parasite prevention and vaccinations given by a certified veterinarian. We highly recommend adding an extra layer of protection for your puppy by investing in PET INSURANCE. Cost are usually around $20-$30 a month and can provide great coverage for assisting in expenses for routine care, emergency visits and unexpected accidents.

They will generally have a low to non shedding, shaggy coat that will require continued grooming to keep the coat in a healthy condition. They should be thoroughly bathed and groomed a minimum of every 2-3 months. This routine should kept up on a regular basis so your dog is totally relaxed and comfortable with the whole process.
GROOMING SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE....
*Keeping hair free from the eyes.
*Weekly nail trims
*Expression of anal glands
*Grooming potty trails
*Bi-yearly teeth cleaning by a certified vet
*Ear cleaning and maintenance is a must! You should have the hair removed from your puppy's ear canal by your vet or groomer. The canals should be kept clean and dry at all times to prevent ear infections. Please consult with your vet if there is a yeasty or foul smell coming from the ear canal. Your vet can recommend a anti fungal wash to keep your puppy's ears nice and healthy.
early development and socialization
We can't stress enough how important it is to give your new puppy plenty exercise for optimal health. It is important to learn their limitations so that you can prevent injuries and heartache down the road. Running on slick floors or climbing stairs can be damaging to puppy's joints and ligaments so it is very important to limit those activities until your puppy has matured.
Short walks through the neighborhood, Playing fetch in the yard or taking trips to the dog park are great ways to keep your puppy exercised and happy. Introducing your puppy to water at an early age is highly recommended and swimming is one of the best ways to exercise a young puppy's joints.
Introducing your puppy to car rides, strange places, strange noises, unfamiliar people, and other pets/animals are just a few ways to socialize your puppy. Make sure your puppy has has its full set of vaccinations before scheduling play dates or visiting dog parks.
Preventing early behavior problems before they start is the key to a happy life with your dog. The first year of your puppy's life requires a good deal of time and energy. It is up to you to help your puppy become a well behaved family member.
Enrolling your puppy in training/obedience classes when they are of appropriate age can be beneficial especially if you have children. Please research and find a professional trainer that can provide you their credentials.
